FAQ:
-
PDO threads are made up of polydioxanone (PDO), a strong synthetic monofilament fiber. These absorb in 4-6 months depending on the thickness of the thread. PDO threads are biodegradable and have been used as suture materials in plastic surgery, cardiology, traumatology, and gynecology for over 30 years.
PDO threads have high flexibility, elasticity, and durability. They have better resistance than all other absorbable threads. Total thread absorption occurs within 180 days from time of implantation.
-
PDO threads typically last 6-8 months, with their results becoming more noticeable as time goes on. After the threads are fully dissolved, results last up to 12 months, due to the new collagen and elastin fibers formed from the treatment.
-
PDO threads have the best results on patients without excessive skin laxity. Ideal candidates are typically aged 30-65.

Swelling, bruising, and bleeding may occur for up to 72 hours post-treatment. While it is uncommon, PDO thread treatments could result in thread protrusion and puckering of the skin.
